June’s Studio Newborn Session – Cary NC

This is the first time I have photographed the Caldwell family. June was born 11 weeks ago and is a beautiful baby girl!

Her older sister Ava is a wonderful big sister we had fun with little bear when we were in the studio. Thank you for letting me document such an important time in your family!

Phipps’ One-Year Baby Session – Goldsboro NC

I love one-year baby sessions! They are so much fun at this age.

Baby Phipps just turned one on August 21st. His mom Brandi had a big celebration planned at their house in Goldsboro NC.

When I arrived, we did some pictures inside then we went out to their backyard and did some images back there.

I think the backyard has such a special meaning in this case. This is where I did the Maternity portraits and the newborn portraits of Phipps.

Fathers Day Portraits – Larry & Liv

Family Portraits in Apex, NC – Gary and Judy

First I would like to say congratulations to Gary and Judy as they celebrate 60 years together! I met Gary and Judy 3 years ago when their daughter contacted me to schedule a surprise family portrait of all their kids. I had a blast doing that session and Judy’s kids were a lot of fun – They even did the “hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil” pose. Three years later Gary called and told me that the kids were coming into town again and that he and Judy were celebrating 60 years of marriage, so we all got together to shoot new portraits in Apex, NC – an absolutely beautiful setting for a family portrait. Thanks guys! I’m really looking forward to the new family portrait session in July!

Grace’s Senior Portraits in Raleigh

I had the pleasure of photographing Grace’s sister, Meredith’s, wedding on May 14th 2010. They had a beautiful ceremony on Carolina Beach. After the wedding I received an email from their mom stating how they had Grace’s senior portraits done through the school and did not care for the images, so she wanted to schedule a senior portrait session for Grace.

We decided to go downtown to City Market – a wonderful backdrop for her senior session. Oh how I love City Market in Downtown Raleigh. There are so many places to photograph and they have a wonderful mural that changes all the time.

We had a lot of fun finding new places to take her images. One of my favorite places that we used was the downtown produce market. I enjoyed all the colors that the produce brought to the picture.

Newborn Photography Session – Isabella!

I met Kari a while ago at one of the schools where I do school portraits. We had a brief conversation about this and that, how she had just moved to NC with her new husband, and they were getting to know the area. I asked her if she and her husband were planning on having children and – Surprise! – that she was actually 8 weeks pregnant at the time.

That was about nine months ago and I didn’t see much of Kari after that, but I did receive a call from a gentleman who wanted to buy a gift certificate for his wife and lo and behold it was Kari’s husband! He had no idea that we had met prior. He bought our “Mommy and Me” package, we did her maternity photo session at Raleigh Arboretum, and we did Isabella’s newborn photo session at their house.

Newborn photography sessions are fantastic! I enjoy going into my client’s homes to photograph such a memorable time in a new mom and dad’s life where the new parents (and baby) can be comfortable and relaxed.

Vintage Theme Family Portrait – Downtown Raleigh

Debbie won a session at the WBON Auction this past winter and, since they are an Italian family, she asked if they could do a “Godfather” themed shoot. I am always up for trying something new so I said “Let’s do it!”

We staged an alley in downtown Raleigh and Debbie did a lot of research for their clothing of choice.

I had so much fun shooting this session we will be adding it to our list of services! Debbie’s kids were great at getting into character, and I think we can all agree her husband Jimmy did a great job of being top dog. Passersby asked what movie we were making, and the family’s response… “Godfather 4″
